This week in sports was different from any other I've experienced in a very long time.
My happy place, college football, left me with nothing but a bitter taste in my mouth.
The two teams I care about most showed me no love.

Colonels in jeopardy of losing recordEastern moves to .500 on season with the loss Saturday
Eastern met it's match in an unlikely foe, as heavy underdog Western Carolina (2-8, 1-6 Southern Conference) defeated Eastern 24-7.
Turnovers and time of possession proved to be the Colonels downfall, giving away three fumbles and an interception.

Hilltoppers win big 75-54Western capitalized, collecting 29 points off 28 Eastern turnovers
There was little the Colonels could do against Western Kentucky in Bowling Green on Saturday. The Hilltoppers jumped out to a 15-4 lead to start the game, and cruised to a 75-54 win in Eastern's season opener.
Eastern didn't help its cause, committing 28 turnovers.…

Ruttoh qualifies to NCAA championships
The Eastern men's cross country team narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA championships by two spots, coming in seventh, while the women came out and finished 10th out of 35 teams competing, despite coming into the meet unranked at the Southeast Regional Championships in Louisville.…

Women's cross-country finishes in top ten in Southeast Regional Championships
Murray State came out wanting to dethrone the defending OVC champions, but could not do it. Eastern almost beat SEC powerhouse Vanderbilt and has a star runner in Picoty Leitich, who is a freshman.
Being unranked did not faze the women, as they placed 10th out of 35 teams.…
