Moon takes presidency, voter turn-out decreases

Nick Sutherland was elected vice president of Residence Life Council with 677 votes. Brandy Parker received 291 votes.
Thirty-two students were elected to the Senate: Ben Jager, Becky Whitehurst, Allison Helsinger, Katie Brown, Angela Messamore, Reid Connelly, Robin Deitz, Tyler Blythe, David Fifer, John Carolan, Charles Underwood, Cassie Barczewski, DaJuane Harris, Matthew Glover, Tyler Campbell, Dale Perry, Jeff Klein, Sheena Moran, Leah McQuade, Seth Turner, Lauren Brown, Katy Clipson, Rena Burden, Kristen Sample, Sarah Risner, Tracie Prater, Jared Burke, Amanda Hrenya, Kevin Quatman, Delores Madrid-Couch, Anne Blom and Sean McErlane.
Results for SAC were also announced.
Representatives for student organizations are: religious organizations, Brandi Hawkins and Jessica Bevins; sororities, Katie Langdon and Krystal Clay; fraternities, Matt Smith; honors, Lindsay Brock and Rachell Hall; and residence halls, Steven Pickarski and Tyler Cambell.
Smith said she is excited about the results.
"I think it is going to be a good year," Smith said.
