Disco era fashion show raises
money for the homeless

Go back to the '60s for one night.
On April 14, students from the visual merchandising class in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences are hosting the "Peace, Love and Fashion" fashion show and benefit.
The idea for the benefit came from Christy May, a senior paralegal major.
May wanted to raise money for the New Liberty Homeless Shelter in Richmond.
So she contacted the fashion department to help out.
According to Lynn Barnes, the instructor of the visual merchandising class, prizes will be given away at the benefit.
Attendees will vie for prizes ranging from candles to oil change gift certificates.
The models will be modeling clothes inspired by important movements of the '60s and '70s, including the women's movement and the space program.
So hustle on over to the Mule Barn at the Arlington Country Club on April 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance and with a student ID, but tickets bought at the door are $15. All proceeds are tax deductible.
To RSVP, e-mail the visual merchandising class at fashionshowADM339@yahoo.com.
