When I saw the previews to College, it looked like a remake of Superbad 2. Even though it wasn't, College did take the route of the sequel and made up for its lack of good writing and depth of character with shock value and boobies.

It's the classic tale of boy meets girl, girl dumps boy, and boy gets wasted and totally shows her what's what.

The main character is Kevin, played by Drake Bell (Superhero Movie, Drake & Josh). He's a high school senior who's just been dumped by his girlfriend because he's boring. Ah, high school.

Of course, we can't watch Drake without Josh, or at least some suitable fat kid. This time it's Andrew Caldwell who's making his way from roles like "Sweaty Student" and "Stoned High School Kid." He plays Carter, the "cool kid" of the group in this one.Morris, the third musketeer, is the nerdy runt-a la McLovin. He's played by Kevin Covais, better known as American Idol's self-proclaimed sex symbol "Chicken Little."

You know the story. Our hero is about to go on a college visit, but his girlfriend breaks his heart. It's up to his best buds to lift his spirits and convince him that a wild weekend will make up for his recent breakdown.

Road trip. Once the gang arrives at Fairmont University, they're coupled with three members of a troublesome fraternity-Teague, Bearcat, and Morris. Because their frat has been barred from getting new pledges, the three stereotypical sadistic frat brothers adopt the high school students as their new recruits for the weekend. They lure the boys in with promises of beer and parties, but generally just do whatever they can to torture and humiliate the visiting college hopefuls.

But, all isn't lost for the boys-they get paired with yet another trio. Kendall, Heather, and Amy are sorority sisters who each take an interest in one of the pre-frosh visitors. The boys are tortured, vandalized, and fall short of all of their weekend goals.

Don't worry, revenge comes soon after.

There's not a lot to say for College. It is what it is. You get exactly what you expect, and every penny of what you paid to see.

As far as trashy party movies, it's on par with the rest. Superbad went above and beyond, while College is a "C" student.

It's not a bad movie, and a lot of what happens is true-to-life-like the sea of red cups on a Sunday morning, the unexplained cave paintings on a hung-over face, and toilets so gross you'd rather go outside.

College also portrays a part of college life that is only off limits to most people-the party scene that only Greeks and ridiculously good-looking people can enter. Everyone else is left hanging out in a dirty apartment or going to crappy movies on the weekend.

So, you might as well watch it. You don't have anything better to do.
