Scream Park, located in Lexington, is three haunted attractions in one. In the "Castle of Fear," visitors walk among the spirits of knights, jesters, townspeople and a king of the past. While "Insanity" an attraction of chaos and torture takes twists and turns through complete darkness in a maze, showing brave souls all the worst nightmares their minds can dream. Tickets are $15 to get through all three attractions, or $25 to receive a SCREAMpass, which allows, participants to jump right to the front of the line. Scream Park will be open through Oct. 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, and 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Another attraction full of thrills and chills is the Haunted Hotel in Louisville. Giving goosebumps to all, the haunted house is located at 3000 South Fourth Street, Louisville and general admission is $15. For more information, visit www.hauntednetwork.com/hauntedhotel.
A realistic scare comes from the Waverly Hills Haunted Hospital located in Louisville. Once a tuberculosis hospital, the hospital is now known to have had many torturous and experimental treatments. After passing through the hands of many different owners, the history has sparked interest for many different people. From disembodied voices, unexplained noises and actual sightings of ghosts, it's a trip visitors won't soon forget. Ghosts of a woman with chains on her arms and legs as they drip with blood as she screams for help as she runs before disappearing, appear towards the entrance, and the sound of children singing "ring around the rosy" on the roof top. The screams of terror and delight echo across the Ohio River into Cincinnati, where thrill seekers can find Kings Island's Halloween Haunt. Rides and haunted houses are open in the park until the wee hours of the morning and the attractions offer something for everyone. Packages of four offer discounts of more than $15 per person, ringing in at $79 on Fridays and $99 on Saturday and Sunday tickets. Buying online saves more than $10 per ticket. Season passholders enter for free. The Haunt ends Nov. 1.
Haunted woods, a haunted hayride and a 3D mystery maze. Celebrating "Ten Years of Terror," Skeleton's Lair in Bowling Green has 50 live actors, animation, lots of fog and great special effects.
