Spelling Bee to benefit literacy
Mortar Board will sponsor a spelling bee at 6 p.m. on Dec. 9 in the Grise Auditorium of the Combs building. All proceeds will benefit Mortar Board's national philanthropy, Reading and Literacy. Madrigal Feaste tickets on sale now
The Department of Music will sponsor Eastern's 35th Annual Madrigal Feaste at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec. 12, in the Keen Johnson Ballroom. Advance tickets cost $26 and can be purchased in the Colonel 1 Card Office of the Powell building. For more information, contact Sue Ballard at 622-2179.

Dance Theatre presents fall concert
The EKU Dance Theatre will present their fall concert at 8 tonight, extending through Saturday, Nov. 21, in the O'Donnell Auditorium of the Student Services Building. There will also be a matinee showing at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost $5 for students and $10 for the general public, and can be reserved by calling the Alumni House at 622-1264 or 622-6618. Alan Keyes to speak on campus
Eastern's College Republicans will present Dr. Alan Keyes at 3:30 p.m. today in Room 147 of the Wallace building to lecture on the U.S. Constitution. Keyes is a conservative political activist. Among his achievements, he ran for President of the United States in 1992, 1996, 2000 and 2008 and has been a nominee for U.S. Senate on three separate occasions. EKU Theatre presents 'Candida'
Eastern's Theatre Department will present a production of George Bernard Shaw's Candida at 8 tonight, extending through Saturday, Nov. 21, in the Gifford Theatre of the Campbell building. A Sunday matinee will be shown at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Gifford Theatre Box Office between noon and 4 p.m. on weekdays and cost $5 for students and senior citizens, while general tickets cost $6. Vote now for 2010 spring concert artists
Students can visit the Student Government Web site now and vote on several potential artists to be featured in the Student Activities Council's 2010 spring concert. Among the acts to be chosen from are: 3OH!3 with All Time Low, Asher Roth, Coheed & Cambria, David Cook, MIA, Plain White T's, Reliant K, Sean Kingston, Teagan & Sara and Three 6 Mafia. Voting on all ten options ends this Friday, but the final three will be open for voting until Nov. 29. For more information, contact SGA at 622-1724.

Eastern Idol is back at Eastern
The Residence Life Council is sponsoring Eastern Idol from 7 - 9 p.m. Friday in the Grise Auditorium of the Combs building. Come out and cheer on the contestants. For more information, contact SGA at 622-1724.
